On May 25, the Department of Justice (DOJ) released its revised Guidance for Federal Law Enforcement Agencies Regarding the Use of Race, Ethnicity, Gender, National Origin, Religion, Sexual Orientation, Gender Identity, and Disability. This letter urges DHS to use the opportunity DOJ’s new guidance presents and the mandate it imposes to reassess and rescind 287(g) agreements, a failed policy turned political pawn.
