Open Letter to England Airpark Commissioners to Cancel Contracts for Proposed Alexandria ICE Facility

The National Immigration Project joins 12 other organizations in expressing urgent concern regarding the life-threatening harm that would result if the proposed Alexandria Child Detention Center becomes operational. Alongside members of the Central Louisiana community, we urge the Board of Commissioners of the England Economic & Industrial Development District to reconsider its February 23, 2026 decision authorizing the England Airpark Executive Director to execute new contracts with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and the LaSalle Family Foundation, an affiliate of LaSalle Corrections.
