Fabian is the IMPOWER Paralegal at NIPNLG, working with a coalition of AFL-CIO-affiliated building trades unions to obtain labor-based immigration relief for eligible workers. Prior to NIPNLG, Fabian worked as a legal assistant at a law firm specializing in immigration law. In this capacity, he interviewed clients and prepared USCIS applications and petitions as well as immigration court filings.
Fabian is originally from Colombia where he earned his law degree from La Gran Colombia University before pursuing a Master's degree in Human Rights at Universidad Nacional de la Plata in Argentina. Upon arriving in the United States, Fabian began his human rights professional journey by volunteering at the Academy on Human Rights and Humanitarian Law at American University Washington College of Law. Recognized for his exceptional performance, Fabian was promoted to a permanent position. In this role, Fabian organized and coordinated events promoting human rights, featuring prominent experts who shared their insights and expertise. He also served as an assistant to Professor Alvaro Botero, a Human Rights Lawyer and Migration and Forced Displacement Consultant. Fabian won a scholarship to pursue his second Master's degree in Human Rights and International Law this time at American University Washington College of Law.
