Coreas v. Bounds: COVID19 Habeas Petition
As the global COVID-19 pandemic worsens, ICE continues to detain immigrants at the highest risk of severe COVID-19-related illness or death. Confirmed COVID-19 cases have begun to appear in detention facilities around the country. This litigation seeks urgent action including immediate release of detained individuals into proper medical care and to slow the spread of the pandemic.
NIPNLG filed the lawsuit in the United States District Court for the District of Maryland along with the Capital Area Immigrants’ Rights (CAIR) Coalition, the ACLU, and the ACLU of Maryland.
