Hoppock v. USCIS: Denaturalization FOIA
In February 2020, NIPNLG filed a lawsuit on behalf of immigration attorney Matthew Hoppock against the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) to seek information regarding the federal government’s denaturalization efforts. Prior to this litigation, USCIS failed to provide any responsive documents to Matthew Hoppock’s three Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests, which were filed with the agency in June and July of 2018. This lawsuit was brought to compel the release of the requested information under FOIA.
The case was filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia.
