This lawsuit challenges President Trump’s Executive Order ban on nationals of Iran, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen entering the United States. It was brought on behalf of tens of thousands of U.S. citizens and lawful permanent residents who petitioned for immigrant visas for family members and employees, and nationals of the six predominantly Muslim countries barred by the Executive Order who are the beneficiaries of those petitions. The case was amended after President Trump issued a new Executive Order on March 6, 2017,because many plaintiffs and class members are still barred from reuniting in the United States.

The case was filed as a nationwide class action in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Washington by NIPNLG, the American Immigration Council, and the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project.
