About the Campaign
The Campaign to Resist ICE and Secure Immigrant Safety (CRISIS) is an initiative of the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild to support its emergency response to the COVID-19 crisis, and beyond.
Thank you for showing up to help get people out of jails and reunited with their loved ones.
Together we are guided by a belief that the legal, social, economic, and human rights of immigrants are intimately tied to the wellbeing of our nation.
As such, NIPNLG will devote the spring of 2020 to noncitizens facing dire emergencies due to COVID-19 and other crises. Immigrants will benefit from litigation filed to protect, defend, and expand their rights; technical expertise and legal education for attorneys and advocates who defend migrants; and alliances with leaders in the struggle for immigrant justice. This campaign extends NIPNLG's nearly-50 year history of fighting together for immigrant rights.
The CRISIS initiative will operate through June 2020, as together we seek to lessen the devastating impact of COVID-19 and other crises, and fundraise to support immigrants' evolving needs.
All gifts to the CRISIS initiative are fully tax-deductible to the extent provided by law, and no goods or services will be rendered in return. Note: per the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act of March 27, 2020, donors may deduct charitable gifts of up to $300.00 from their 2020 income taxes without itemization.
