About the Campaign
The Campaign to Resist ICE and Secure Immigrant Safety (CRISIS) is an initiative of the National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild to support its emergency response to the COVID-19 crisis, and beyond.
Thank you for showing up to help get people out of jails and reunited with their loved ones!
With you, we are guided by a belief that the legal, social, economic, and human rights of immigrants are intimately tied to the wellbeing of our nation.
As such, NIPNLG will devote much of 2020 to noncitizens facing dire emergencies due to COVID-19 and other crises. Immigrants will benefit from litigation filed to protect, defend, and expand their rights; technical expertise and training for attorneys and advocates who defend migrants; and alliance-building with community leaders on the ground in the struggle for immigrant justice.
An extention of NIPNLG's nearly-50 year history of fighting together for immigrant rights, the CRISIS initiative will operate through December 31, 2020, as together we strive to blunt the devastating impact of COVID-19 and other anti-immigrant measures upon immigrant lives, and raise $50,000 to advance their lawful rights.
All gifts to the CRISIS initiative are fully tax-deductible to the extent provided by law, and no goods or services will be rendered in return. Note: per the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act of March 27, 2020, donors may deduct charitable gifts of up to $300.00 from their 2020 income taxes without itemization.
